The price you pay

The price of gas never really bothered me. You see, my everyday car is a Honda Civic and I typically get about 37 miles per gallon. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I used to drive about 130 miles a day back and forth to work and it cost about $50 a week for gas. I recently moved and now a tank of gas lasts me about 10 days. My wife drives half the miles I do and when I fill her 4 Runner's tank it's always been $35 or more.

I filled my tank tonight and the pump clicked off at $30.03. $30.03 to fill a Honda! I've always put more than $20 in, but I'd never broken $30. I know at $2.599/gallon we've got nothing to complain about in the U.S. compared to other parts of the world, but sheesh. This is starting to cut into my mad money.

Gotta love 47-50 MPG :)

I rarely break $20 at the pump even now. I'm hoping this makes them (hybrids and related technologies) catch on.

It is fun to pull up next to a really big car that has been there for a while pumping - I'll fill up, pay and drive away - and they are still there.

25 miles each way to work. I pay more in TOLLS than I do in gas.

Snickered the other day when a Suburban next to me was at $54 and still pumping.

You guys don't know you're born (said in an old man style)

I drive a Renault Clio and it costs me £40 to fill a tank with diesel. That's close to $70 for a tank. This is a small car!

The fuel prices in the UK are bonkers :)

I agree with them. I used complain about the price of gas until I went to France. Yikes!

It costs about 40$ (Canadian) to fill my SUV. Of course, in 3.5 years I've only driven 15,000 km. I only fill my tank once a month, tops.

I walk to work and back most days, even though it's a 50-minute walk. I like walking, why add yet another car to the road?

Buy stock in Chevron or oil. At least you will get some of that money back.
